The Netherlands defeated Senegal in a thrilling match. Everyone was thinking this match will be ended without a goal but the Netherlands have other plans.


Match Highlights
Senegal kicked off the game with a 4-2-3-1 strategy and Netherlands' line-up was 3-4-1-2.

Ismaila Sarr gets the opportunity in the line-up due to Sadio Mane's injury. He started well at the start of the match.

Both teams played attacking and created many chances in the first half. The Netherlands create most goalscoring chances but could not get on target.

Ismaila Sarr created opportunities for Senegal. Frankie de Jong missed a simple opportunity to lead the Netherlands by 1 goal so 0-0 stands till half-time.

Diallo walked off the field due to injury and Diatte had also a hamstring issue so he walked off on a stretcher. 2 brilliant saves by Netherlands Goalkeeper were crucial.

Senegal showed their defensive strength in this match but one mistake from the Senegalese goalkeeper in the 84th minute costs the match for Senegal.

Gakpo scored his debut goal and that was crucial to get the win for the Netherlands. Senegal tried hard to level the score but could not do it. Klaassen scored in the extra time of 2nd half  and ended the hopes of Senegal.


Analysis
Senegal lost this match against the Netherlands but they showed their defense in this match. Now they have to beat Ecuador to keep a round of 16 chances alive.

We watched yesterday's Ecuador match and if we compare Ecuador and Senegal then both teams are good in defense.

Sadio Mane's absence will a problem for Senegal but if we look at today's match then we can expect goals without him as well. Senegal got many chances to score a goal in this match but they did not capitalize.

Now let's talk about the Netherlands. I think the Netherlands will be the first team who qualify for the round of 16 from this group. The Netherlands will win against Qatar according to my opinion. Ecuador can create some sort of threat to the Netherlands.
